The S1 Shred Pads come as a set with knee and elbow pads included, built for kids ages 5 to 10. They slip on rather than wrapping around, which holds them more securely on a small knee, and they carry more padding than the S1 Starter Pad Set.

Take the circumference of the knee around the knee cap with the leg straight, and the circumference of the elbow at the joint with the arm straight. Kids XS/S fits a 10" to 11" knee and a 6" to 7" elbow. Kids M/L fits an 11" to 12" knee and a 7" to 8" elbow. If the two point to different sizes, size to the knee, since that is the pad that takes the impact.

The Shred Pads carry more padding and slip on, which holds them more securely on the knee and elbow. The Starter Pad Set wraps around instead, and it includes wrist guards along with the knee and elbow pads.

Does my child need a helmet too?

Yes. These pads protect knees and elbows only. Pair them with a certified helmet, and add wrist guards for full coverage.

What is the return policy?

S1 products can be returned within 60 days as long as they have not been used. Contact us for a return authorization (RA) number before sending anything back. Return shipping is paid by the buyer, and we refund the original purchase amount once the item arrives. S1 gear carries a 1-year manufacturer warranty against defects. The warranty does not cover damage from impact, misuse, accident, or normal wear and tear.
